Ocean Installer to work on Gode Wind 1 in Germany

Norwegian subsea services company Ocean Installer has been awarded the offshore wind contract to Norddeutsche Seekabelwerke for work in German waters in the southern sector of the North Sea.  

Normand Vision, Ocean Installer’s support vessel will be used to develop the project, which includes recovery of two pre-laid heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) system, export power cables in the 500 m zone of the Gode Wind 1 offshore substation, relay of the cable, installation of the centralizer cable protection system and pull into the transformer platform.

Mr. Steinar Riise, CEO of Ocean Installer said “We are very pleased that we are able to secure a very interesting project within the offshore renewables wind market and demonstrate our capabilities on such a project.” 

Gode Wind 1, is located in the German waters of the North Sea, approximately 40 kilometers from the coast of Norderney. 

Gode Wind 1 is a joint venture between Danish offshore wind energy developer DONG Energy and Global Infrastructure Partners. The 330 MW project is expected to be commissioned in the fourth quarter of 2016.
