New Indonesia and Orkneys zones available in Metocean Analytics

This month, we are adding wind, wave, ocean current datasets for two new regional zones: Indonesia and Orkney Islands.

Since 2011, Open Ocean’s philosophy is to provide you with the best and latest datas possible thanks to our continuous search for innovation and quality.

With this goal in mind, we regularly make new regional datasets available for analysis through Metocean Analytics.

This month, we are adding wind, wave, ocean current datasets for two new regional zones: Indonesia and Orkney Islands.

These two zones include numerous islands separated by channels of various width with a lot of potential for tidal energy development. That’s why we have worked specifically on adding higher resolution local ocean current simulations covering the channels with the most potential. These ‘tidal energy hotspots’ are properly characterized to obtain the key information you need for project development.

The Indonesia zone covers such a wide area that it is relevant for numerous marine applications: offshore wind, wave energy, ocean thermal energy, oil&gas,...

For the Orkney Islands, the waves coming from the northern North Atlantic make a strong case for wave energy potential on the top of the channels tidal energy potential.
