First offshore wind farm to be implemented in the Mediterranean Sea will have a total rated power of 30MW

Beleolico Srl, a branch of Belenergia S.A., was chosen by Senvion as project’s turbine supplier. Taranto wind farm will feature ten 3MW offshore turbines and it will be the first offshore wind project in the Mediterranean Sea.

The turbines will be located approximately 3km off Taranto harbor in the Apulia region (Southern Italy) in a water depth of 4 to 18 meters.

The turbines delivery and installation are planned for summer 2018 and their commissioning is expected to take place in autumn 2018.

Senvion’s agreement with Beleolico foresees a 25-year full maintenance service.
