Gemini offshore wind park in the North Sea achieved full completion ahead of schedule

On April 28, 2017, Northland Power had announced full completion of 600MW Gemini offshore wind farm, on the North Sea. The project was completed ahead of schedule and under its total budget of €2.8 billion.

Northland Power is an independent power producer founded in 1897. The company develops, builds, owns and operates facilities that produce natural gas and wind, solar and hydro energy.

Gemini is located 85 kilometers from the coast of Groningen and is expected to generate energy to meet the needs of 1.5 million people in the Netherlands and reduce country’s CO2 emissions by 1.25 million tons per year.

Gemini park counts with 150 turbines, all fully operating since October 2016, and with a total revenue of €250 million of net pre-completion revenues.

Full completion means that there will be no more constructions on the site and that all of the terms required on the contract have been fulfilled.
