Offshore Wind: United States still have some work!

Welcome the United States in offshore wind world! The installation the first  offshore wind turbine as part of the 30MW project off the US coast marks a pivotal moment in the development of offshore energy. As a reminder the London Array is a 630MW wind farm and DONG develop a 700MW project off Netherland shore.

It is the beginning for the US offshore wind, despite the huge potential of wind power in north America. Now United States begin to catch up their delay.

Deepwater Wind has installed the first offshore wind turbine off the U.S. coast near Block Island, Rhode Island, marking a major milestone in alternative energy and wind power. Miles Grant, a spokesman for the National Wildlife Federation said : “Today’s turbine installation shows that offshore wind power is a real, viable option for states along the coast to transition to clean energy” and he added: “conservationists have spent over a decade pushing for wildlife-friendly offshore wind power”
