Increasing the Nerherlands' offshore wind energy capacity by 56%, Dutch energy developer Eneco and its partner Mitsubishi have commissioned the 129MW Eneco Luchterduinen offshore wind farm.

The €450m project employing 43 wind turbines is located off the coast of Zandvoort and Noordwijk in the North Sea, covering an area of 25 km2 and is capable of generating electricity sufficient to meet the needs of around 50,000 Dutch households.
The project comprises 43 MHI Vestas V112 3MW turbines and was completed on budget and three months ahead of schedule.

Eneco Luchterduinen offshore wind farm would be the third in the Dutch waters of North sea and would join 108MW Egmond aan Zee and 120MW Princess Amalia.

Eneco Luchterduinen is a joint venture between Eneco and Mitsubishi Corporation.
